| As Activity Check comes to a close and we only have three characters checking in, as well as the lack of interest in the last few events and mod posts, I'm afraid the fate of the game is pretty clear.
I'd first like to start by thanking everyone so, so much for joining Holy Relic and helping it last as long as it did! We had hoped with the new surge in canon-based games, a re-opening would be more popular and it'd be more appealing on its second run, but unfortunately with the rate new games are coming out, there's no time for them to really stabilize and build up a solid playerbase or get much recognition, even with aggressive advertising. It had a good year's run back on LJ but it just wasn't a popular premise and had little interest, and we're afraid it was much the same again.
We mods are also at fault, of course, and we do recognize that and apologize for lacking the time necessary to dedicate to the game. On the same hand however, there isn't much that could have been done without that spark of interest and keeping some traffic coming in with reserves and applications. :(
The game will be closing this month (most likely within the week, as we've had no mod helper offers or feedback to improve the game), but if you'd like some IC/OOC closure we'd be more than willing to organize a little meet-up where characters can be thanked for their time in Holy Relic's beta phase and be told they're getting sent home, so they can talk to the friends they've made one last time and leave through the Chaos Gate. If you'd like to take the chance for a final dungeon fling or anything, characters will have 24 hours ICly and you're free to toss up logs or action spam posts and take your time.
This is the only time characters will be allowed to enter the Chaos Gate without entering keywords - if the popup on the Relic has all three area words blank, characters will simply go home, but it still functions regularly and area words can be selected.
Thank you again for all your time spent with us, and we hope you've made some great friends along the way and enjoyed yourselves! |

| activity check!Hey guys! I'll try to keep things as clear and simple as possible, but feel free to ask if you have any questions. :) Inside the cut is a list of all the journals in the game, and as you comment with your A/C (or letting us know you're from the month's app batch-- your first month is free!) you'll be removed from the list. If you hiatused for more than a week or for the first half of the month, you'll be exempted from A/C and your journals will be struck out with a note beside them; you're safe! But if your listed hiatus is struck out in the hiatus section below, it means it didn't cover your A/C and we'd still like you to comment! Even if it's just a quick owning-up to no activity, at least your character won't get removed from the game! (If you're actively hiatused, you'll take an automatic strike instead of getting the insta-boot.) Activity Check will operate on a TWO-STRIKE SYSTEM! If your character receives a strike for one month, and fails activity the next month, they'll be removed from the game. Strikes are always reversible, but we will keep an eye out for excessive repeat offenders! LEVELS will be noted below-- we have the events and alternate ways to earn levels listed at the top of A/C for the month, and if you participated, just let us know and tell us what their levels were and are changed to! We'll add them to the levels spreadsheet linked underneath at the end of A/C. Please do note that levels are not ICly only added at the end of the month, but as they "complete" the event-- you can account for them ICly as they earn them! ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS are simple! Two posts (OR) logs a month. This can be mix-n-match with one post and one log, or if you don't manage those, we'll also take a ten comment (ten by you, that is) thread as ONE part A/C. No posts OR logs? Give us twenty comments in threads! You can use shorter threads and the like as well, but only a maximum of THREE different threads for one part. Just try to give us at least a post now and then, huh? c: THIS POST WILL BE CLOSED as of midnight on October 4th, or 12:01am PST on October 5th. While we might accept last-minute comments up til we've posted the results of the A/C, we'd like your comments in before that deadline. Thank you! levels, events, & quests ✽ POSTS (ANY): +1 level each, up to 4 per month. ✽ LEVEL GRINDING: Field areas are +2, and dungeons are +3 levels each. We do require a link to an IC mention to the grinding/partying, although the fighting can OOCly be handwaved. ✽ PASS A/C: Yep, you're already here, so get a comment in! That's +1 level, so please note it in your A/C comment. ✽ EVENT PARTICIPATION: See below!
✽ AUG 10th~14th You Can't Catch Fish if You Don't Go Fishing (+3) Summer event! Fishing competition and bathing suits as far as the eye can see.
✽ AUG 21st~23rd Catch That Thief! (+2) There's a thief stealing everything imaginable, and it's up to you to stop them!
✽ SEP 22nd~26th Shine On, Harvest Moon (+3) Fall event! The mystery behind The World's food supply is revealed, and the farmers responsible want some assistance in bringing this year's harvest to the table.

levels spreadsheet( snippety snip )IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of how late the last A/C would've been, it didn't happen at all for the month of August, so please let us know any events you participated in and we'll get the levels updated. Don't worry about providing A/C for both months, only focus on September please! |

| All right, folks, let us not kid ourselves. Those of you who were here the first round of this game (back when we were on LJ) have been through this before, but those of you who only recently joined us on DW... I just want to say a sincere thank you. Unfortunately, we've had a really hard time generating interest in this game these past couple of months. The pacing and flow of DW/LJRP has changed a lot in the past few years; brand new games are coming out so quickly and with such frequency that other games - also new - are having a hard time actually settling into a comfortable groove. It was brought to my attention recently (in multiple ways) that this game is dying, but between lack of interest or just plain (understandable) caution, things aren't boding well for us. Another unfortunate turn of events is that both Jamie and I have been literally slammed by real life. So while we were able to mostly keep up with the game during the summer, the two of us have been having an incredibly hard time finding the energy to keep at it now. We both love this game dearly, and I'm sure(?) a few of you feel the same way. Which brings me to the point of this post: Do you, the players, have any feedback on the game/suggestions to help generate interest? Otherwise, we could always use an EXTRA HAND to help us get things sorted out or to help us through these trying times. University life is suffering As for events... We always do our best to put up the CALENDAR for the month within in the first week. All future events for the month are put there so you don't always have to wait for a plot log to go up to know what's going down! |

| Hi, everybody, Kuu here-- *ducks the miscellaneous objects being thrown at her I'LL GET TO PEOPLE'S TAGS I SWEAR* So it's that time of month again, folks. That time where Activity Check needs to be done and ATP is on the horizon. So for anyone who hasn't replied to the A/C yet, please do! If you fail to report then we'll have to give out a strike; two strikes and you're out. 8( the Olympics are distracting, but come now, it's simply a quick commentAlso, app_this_plz will be opening this weekend! Which means that if you've got a hankering for some castmates now's as good a time to bring it up as any. We've got a quick form for 'Wanted' castmates so just fill it out and leave a comment! Give us all the characters you want before Saturday @ 3pm so that we have some time to put everything together and update our previous list. Reserves will also be opening up on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1ST so tell all your bros! Phew, I think that's everychim. 'w' |

| Hey guys! I have a couple of important additions to the game's mechanics, and also a bitty ditty about this week's event. As always, if you have any questions/comments after reading, just let us know! First of all, and most importantly: there is now a public board! AKA the familiar network mechanic. CCorp pushed their re-opening of The World and not everything was done, but now the message board is up and running with a new addition to the Relic. There will be audio, video, and of course text messaging available immediately and will be introduced with its first post announcing the event with the first clue. The icon that opens the board will be flashing on the Relic, and when the characters open it, they'll be given a tutorial that walks them through the basics of how to work it and what it can do. Anonymous posting will be allowed, but encryption is entirely up to the character's ability to do so. There will also be a PM system in effect soon, but as of yet it hasn't been "finished". It's coming, it's coming, it's coming. Beware, soon you'll be privy to all your friends' thoughts and remarks. ----- Moving on, I wanted to detail the level system and alternate ways to rack up your levels! I apologize for it not being clarified earlier, and please do comment to account for any extra levels earned with these guidelines. ONE: Of course the default, participate in events! This is the quickest way to earn levels, and the highest net gain of anywhere between 1~4 levels per event. TWO: Post! You'll earn one level per (any) post made, up to four posts a month. While we do encourage activity, we don't want to see a lot of spam just to up levels! :( THREE: Dungeon crawl! Or any form of non-event leveling. Field areas will earn you two levels each, and dungeons will be three. Please be sure to show us your log/post about doing so and we'll grant you the levels for them! The actual grinding can be handwaved, so long as it ICly did happen/was organized and assumed to have happened. FOUR: Pass activity! As we mentioned in the FAQ, there is one level awarded per a/c passed-- if you gain no other levels, at least this will be accounted for. There may be other ways added eventually, but for now these are the basics, and they'll be added to the FAQ shortly as well as be reminders posted to A/C. Any activity/missed levels from game opening can be claimed here and now, just reply to the LEVELS thread below! ----- Now, about this week's event. It's packed full of things to do and swag to gain, but that also means it'll be a lot of tagging! It's a scavenger hunt setup meant to guide Players through The World, get accustomed with it and know what there is to know-- as well as introduce our new Root Town! It's a fun and low-leveled journey through all the different areas and begins in the Root Town, with the first hint given. I'll be outlining the hints, solutions, and prizes to be earned below, separated via cuts in case you want to avoid spoiling the surprises. :) ( step one )( step two )( step three )( step four )( step five )Aaaand I believe that's everything! The network post will be coming shortly, and the event log right behind. :) ♥ Feel free to plot away, break into groups, or slam us with any questions/clarifications inside! EDIT so you guys aren't spammed. I realize we weren't able to announce the winners for the Tulip Quest(!!!). Going through the log, we conclude that the winners are Mia's party: Mia, Ivan, Roy. They each gain(ed) one extra level from the quest. We've also decided a winner for the steambike raffle! We used RNG to roll for the winning raffle number, and the winner is Faris! Congratulations! |

Thank you! events & quests ✽ JUNE 19th~22nd Can a chest that can't be opened really be called a chest? (+3 lvls) The NPCs around town are spreading rumors of a dungeon chest that can't be opened. If you ask them nicely, they'll give you the area words Δ Choosing Superior Offerings. There's an NPC that summons some undead goblins to fight, but it's part one of a three-part event spread out over time!

| Two items today, kids: First, our Activity Check ends soon! If you know anyone who hasn't posted there yet, give them a gentle prodding and remind them to post or else they'll get a strike. Two strikes and you're out of the game, sadly :'( Second! Reserves are opening soon, and ATP is also this weekend. Here's a handy-dandy textbox with a teeny form you can use to comment on this pots so we can get our ad up when ATP comes up this Saturday: So give us all the canons and characters you want ♥ Just make sure you list them all before Saturday, 3pm so we can compile the list before posting. |

| Hey everyone! I'm sorry this took so long to get up, but here's levels. I'll be doing them this time to show you how they work out and give you a starting point, but from here on I'll just be telling you how many levels were gained for each event and you can account for them on your end come A/C. For the first month or two we'll have a bonus level tacked onto events, but the formula will otherwise always follow: if the event lasts four days or more, it's +3 levels. If it's three days and less, it's +2. So you can always assume generally what level your character will be around so long as you don't confuse yourself! We trust you guys to be honest and keep us updated on each A/C where you'll reply with your links and tell us which events your chara participated in to gain levels. april E1 APRIL FOOLS: (1st~7th) +4 levels ↳ St. Patty's Day intro event!
Q1 HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL: (8th~14th) +4 levels ↳ Easter quest!
E2 RECYCLE, REDUCE, REUSE: (21st~23rd) +3 levels ↳ Recycling event! | ( list under here! )Next month will make the system make more sense, but we'll have a levels guide on gdocs to keep track of who gains what and where they are level-wise from your A/C comments each month. It'll be public for viewing, but mostly just for mods to keep track of general levels so we know when to open new areas and root towns-- it's by no means mandatory to keep tabs on everyone else's levels. EDIT: permanent levels here!IF YOU AREN'T ACCOUNTED FOR HERE and tagged in late, please reply to this entry with a link so I can add you in for backtagging! |
