It's a new day in The World, and a special quest is abound. But wait, the players cry! The game isn't open yet! Shush you, the GMs warned. This is only a test drive meme. The game is simple. You've woken up in a lush field of grass, soft to the touch and a little damp with dew. Spring has reached The World, and there's a randomized checklist in your hand. Your goal is to catch five of the Lucky Animals bounding about, and it's perfectly fine to work together. In fact, we encourage it! Collect them all and deposit them in a pen where the GMs await. There's plenty for everyone, but they will be watching closely for cheaters. Any items won in this pre-game minigame will carry over once holyrelic opens, so get your limited edition item set today! Magnificent prizes await you, so go forth! Just beware; some of the Lucky Animals aren't really so lucky and have their own side effects. (All participants who apply will receive a mochi hat of the player's choosing. They can be either small (think mini tophats) or large (like a harvest cleric's hat) and any of the three colors, with any variety of accessories. All participants who finish the quest will earn a spring-themed beginner item set! It will include one weapon and a bonus item set with five restoratives, five randomized buff spells, and five randomized food items.)

[The Baku in his arms struggle to free itself but Yuuta keeps his hold on it.]

We should get this to the pen before it runs away again.

Aah, right, right! [Oops, he was so excited to see Yuuta again he sort of maybe forgot about the Baku. No worries, Takeshi's got it all under wraps and it isn't too long until they both claimed one pen for the Baku they caught.]

That's one down!

Four more to go then. Come on, let's hurry. [He then grabs onto Takeshi's sleeve to drag him away from the pen in search for more.]

[Just like old times, eh? This is fun! Even if it's kind of weird because the last thing he remembers is... well, it was fuzzy. Like he'd been in a coma for a bit, and there was a hazy mix of memories of boarding the plane to Beijing and landing in Mac Anu and there was a few other weird details and maybe attending university, too, which Takeshi never really did... But he really needed to focus on the task at hand.

He checks the list.] I hope we get something cute this time!

[Yuuta's weirded out by suddenly being back too but for now, he thinks it's probably best to act like nothing's changed. Too much has happened since he was in The World last.

He does roll his eyes at Takeshi's comment though.]

Doesn't really matter since cute doesn't get us more points or anything anyways.

But the cute ones are the easiest to catch, right? 'Cause they're usually small and cute and more appealing to the girl players.

[Looking around for one. There were a bunch of those lucky animals earlier, but it's like they started hiding! Or maybe all other players have gotten them already? Oh noooooo!]

[Mumbles to himself.] That doesn't really make sense at all. [But nevertheless he glances around and tries to find another animal to catch. He sees something moving in the distance and hits Takeshi's arm to catch his attention.]

Over there, is that one cute enough?

[He points to a Fate Worm.]

Huh, where? [Looking overrrrrr- huh. Well, it wasn't as cute as he was expecting it to be, but if Yuuta found it cute, then maybe it was? "Cute" was a relative description anyway!]

That'll do! Let's catch it and we'll be closer to finishing this!

[isolates]

Alright.

[He rolls his eyes again. It's obviously not cute at all but whatever, as long as they get it in the pen it's all good.]

Should I chase it over here and then you try to catch it?

[It's okay, Yuuta. Takeshi will just think you have weird tastes.]

Yeah. It'll be easier to catch if we can flank it, I think. Much easier if we can set traps, but I don't think that's allowed!

[Yuuta nods and starts running to the side a bit so he can circle around behind the Fate Worm. Thankfully it doesn't notice him until he's behind it.]

Go go go!

[The Fate Worm gives a startled snort and bolts away from him.]

[And it heads straight for Momo! At first he looks panicked, but he jumps at it at the last minute, clinging on to the Fate Worm with all his might and--

Well, the Fate Worm now has one (1) passenger as he tries to escape Yuuta.

That counts as caught, right?]

S-Slow dooooown!

[isolates]

[Yuuta can't believe what he's actually seeing.]

What are you doing? You were supposed to catch it!!

[He continues chasing after the Fate Worm (and Takeshi) but he tries to think of what he should do.]

I diiiiiiiiid! But it caught me tooooooo!

[But wait wait-- the Fate Worm is slowing down? Dragging Takeshi around is tiring it out a bit, but it's still not stopping!]

Aaaaagh, do something!

[Even as he says that, he picks up his running speed. Sure he's not like Aoi with her insane running abilities, but he's still a Comrade he's still faster than normal people. Hopefully that's enough to catch up to the Fate Worm and stop it.

And also save Takeshi, but whatever.]

I'm tryyyying but I don't have a spell to slow it down!

[He tries dangling his feet down so at least he could help more with slowing the lucky animal and breaking the speed. It kinda hurt, but at least he should still be able to heal up later...?]

[Oh, spells would be a good idea but he's not so sure it's allowed to use them on the Lucky Animals. But, might as well.]

How about I put it to sleep?

[Was it a good idea? Would they be penalized? Right now Momo didn't care all that much, his legs feel like they'd come off if the Fate Worm kept running!]

Just make sure not to hit me instead!

[That's a high order for a moving target.]

I'll try but no promises.

[Yuuta pulls out his Relic to retrieve his Grimoire, having put it in there earlier for safe keeping.]

Dodge to the side a a bit.

O-okay! I'll try!

[Trying to make himself smaller now, if that's even possible.]

[Quickly he flips open his spell book. He looks at Takeshi and the Fate Worm in front of him then down at his spell book before looking up again. This is going to be a bit difficult...

Hopefully his aim isn't completely terrible.]

Mumyn Lei!

[Momo shuts his eyes tight and braces himself, in case the spell hits him instead. The next moment though, he feels the Fate Worm slow down, and it falls to its side with a thud, throwing him off and onto the grass.

He opens an eye, peering at his surroundings.]

...It.... worked?

[isolates]

[Yuuta stares for a moment, hardly believing then--]

Yeah! It worked!

[He throws a triumphant fist into the air then runs over to where the Fate Worm is now sleeping with Takeshi sitting beside it.]

[Momo jumps to his feet, fists pumping in the air.]

Yes! Hahaha, take this you silly animal! [He gives the Fate Worm a kick on its side (he's careful not to wake it up, but he's pretty sure it wouldn't because of Yuuta's spell. And he gives his friend a thumbs up.]

Great job on the aim! Now we can bring this back, and we're down to three.
