It's a new day in The World, and a special quest is abound. But wait, the players cry! The game isn't open yet! Shush you, the GMs warned. This is only a test drive meme. The game is simple. You've woken up in a lush field of grass, soft to the touch and a little damp with dew. Spring has reached The World, and there's a randomized checklist in your hand. Your goal is to catch five of the Lucky Animals bounding about, and it's perfectly fine to work together. In fact, we encourage it! Collect them all and deposit them in a pen where the GMs await. There's plenty for everyone, but they will be watching closely for cheaters. Any items won in this pre-game minigame will carry over once holyrelic opens, so get your limited edition item set today! Magnificent prizes await you, so go forth! Just beware; some of the Lucky Animals aren't really so lucky and have their own side effects. (All participants who apply will receive a mochi hat of the player's choosing. They can be either small (think mini tophats) or large (like a harvest cleric's hat) and any of the three colors, with any variety of accessories. All participants who finish the quest will earn a spring-themed beginner item set! It will include one weapon and a bonus item set with five restoratives, five randomized buff spells, and five randomized food items.)

Huh, interesting... Oh, where are my manners? I'm Kirino Ranmaru. It's nice to meet you.

[Kirino glances to his own list, then to the Tsutsuga.] Maybe it'd be in our best interest to work together? Err, that is, if you want.

Claiming Pen 3 then

[The boy smiles.] I'm Yuuta and no, I don't mind working together. Wanna come with me to drop this thing off in the pen?

Sure thing!

[isolates]

[Yuuta wastes no time and proceeds to lead the way to the pen 3 to drop off the Tsutsuga. Once it's safely behind the gate, he turns back to Kirino.]

There, one down. Time to chase after some more.

All right. Let's get to it. [Kirino starts making his way from the pen, glancing around.

[isolates]

[Yuuta follows after, also on the look out for something else they can catch. In the mean time though, he tries to make small talk, especially since he doesn't recognize Kirino.]

So, have you ever done something like this before?

[doingthemistything]

No, I haven't. You seem like you've had experience with these sorts of things, though.

[isolates]

It's because I've been in The World before. [He only realized that when he woke up in the field though, since he had no memories of being stuck in a game world while he was home.] Quests can be different though but you get used to them.

[His eyes widen as he speaks because he sees some movement to his left. He turns around quickly and reaches up to pull at Kirino's shirt to get his attention.]

Hey, there's something over there.

The World?

[Kirino takes a look in the direction Yuuta indicates, then nods, trying to make his way over as quickly and quietly as possible in order to look.]

[isolates]

That's what this place is called.

[His voice trails off though as he moves away from Kirino, hoping that they can somehow surround the Qi Lin, who's currently sunbathing and not paying them any attention.]

[Kirino glances at Yuuta, then nods, inching his way around to the opposite side of the Qi Lin. The nod's something of an "I'll ask you the details in the minute" sort of nod.]

[isolates]

[Yuuta nods back, then focuses on sneaking up on the Qi Lin as quietly as possible. It seems it's enjoying basking in the sun a lot because it has yet to notice that two boys are sneaking up on it.]

[Once Kirino's made his way to the other side of the Qi Lin, he pauses. He looks up at Yuuta to confirm that the other boy's ready to grab it.]

[isolates]

[When he notices the other boy looking at him, Yuuta nods again. Slowly, he raises his hand, with three fingers up indicating on the count of three.

One...

Two...

Three!]

[On three, Kirino quickly moves to grab the Qi Lin! Here's hoping it doesn't escape--]

[isolates]

[The Qi Lin makes a distressed sound but it's not like it can go anywhere, not with Yuuta also running at it.]

[And the Qi Lin is caught!] There, got it.

[isolates]

Alright!

[He stops beside Kirino and beams.]

That wasn't so bad.

[doingthemistything]

Not at all. As soon as we put this one in the pen, there's three more, right?

[isolates]

Yep, since we need five. Let's put it away first before we get the rest.

[As he says this, he's already heading back in the direction of pens.]

[Kirino follows, the struggling Qi Lin in his arms.]

So what's this place even like?

[isolates]

Hm. [As he walks, he puts his hands behind his head.] It's kinda like a video game, if you have those where you're from. The RPG kinds.

Ah, I see. I didn't really play many games back home. When I did, they were mainly party games. [He chuckled slightly.] I don't... err, didn't really have the time for video games between school and soccer practice.

[isolates]

[Well, that certainly catches his attention.]

You play soccer?

[Have a little boy grinning widely at you, Kirino.]

Yup! My team's close to being one of the best in the country. [There's a tiny air of pride as he says that last part, but it seems to dissipate as he reaches the pen. Well, time to put the Qi Lin in the pen!]
